Moro Franco

 

Franco Moro, pianist and composer, was born in Padua and graduated from the renowned ”Cesare Pollini” Conservatory. He has concertised regularly both as a piano accompanist, and as soloist with numerous instrumental ensembles. A specialist in “lyrical vocal music” his numerous accomplishments include performances at some of the world’s most prestigious music festivals and concert halls, these include: Recital Lirico, Castello Sforzesco, Milan (with soprano Dominika Zamara); X Festival of Music of Villaviciosa de Odon, Madrid; All-Polish Composers Concert, Palazzo Cavagnis, Venice; Recital—XXV International Music Conference, Padua; The Song of the Heart Trio Concert Concert, Kapplerhof Concert Hall, Austria. In addition to his musical performance career, he is the author (with the soprano Cecilia Tartaro) of the lyric theatre work Quadri da Cavalleria Rusticana—Between Theater and Melodrama. This innovative re-reading of Pietro Mascagni’s masterpiece was premiered to great public and critical success in Padua (Bastione Alicorno, October 2011), and was subsequently restaged in other theaters. Maestro Moro’s accomplishments also include myriad original compositions, and arrangements of both famous songs and film music. He is Artistic Director of the vocal and instrumental ensemble “Classic Art Ensemble.”
